Community Center Completion

Friends & Family

The construction of the community center is complete, the contractor and his assistant have gone home. They worked two months on the project working six days a week from morning till night. The community provided three meals a day and a place for them to sleep at night. Members of the community assisted when needed.

The pouring of the roof required a large number of community members. At least ten members of the community worked in a team effort to mix concrete on ground level and then move the concrete to the roof, not an easy task.

The entire project cost $5,000. Labor was $1250, material was $3750.
The following is the list of material used.
Re-bar 2,200 pounds
Cement 16,500 pounds
Sand 1 load
Gravel 3 loads
Nails 15 pounds
Door
Windows 4

The community will be completing the finishing touches; paint, furniture, light fixtures, etc.

I want to thank everyone for their support, we certainly could not haveĀ  completed the job without support from home.
