We’re doing it again. Last year was pretty fun! Zac Antczac, Tim Haigh, and Eric Berube are putting on a tailgate party complete with a seven foot wood smoker trailer, kegs of beer, and games and fun. We’ll have some tunes outside, dress warm as this is a tailgate party! The bar will be open for the softies in the group but the party will be rocking in the parking lot as well. Drink up begins at 11am and kickoff on the big screen is at 1pm. Club members and their guests are invited. $15 for food- menu to be some smoked bbq, possibly short rib or turkey or shoulder or combination of all depending on what looks good at the market, and sides like mac and cheese and slaw etc.
Think you have what it takes to be the best? Do ya?! Bring down a chili, come down, taste, and sample the competition. Winners will be selected by a blind vote.
Chili bringers are free to test and eat the club chili to their heart’s content. Non-chili bringers are welcome to make a donation to the children’s Christmas fund to eat their fill and test and vote.
Each year, PCYC opens up its doors to invite the U.S. armed service veterans from Chelsea Soldiers’ Home to a luncheon with live music and care packages to take home.
This is one of the best events of the year and makes many of us proud to be members of PCYC. Members are invited and encouraged to come on down and just hang out and enjoy the party with the men and women who have honorably served our country in its times of need.
No need to sign up. Please come on down. Help out if you wish or if you can but just visiting and joining in the party is really appreciated.
Time to bring your saved can tabs from the past year to the annual PCYC Sink the Deck party.
Members from the Shriners come and weigh out hundreds of pounds of recyclable can tabs which are saved by and donated to PCYC members.
The competition is always fierce between the teams of collectors.
Don't miss out on the fun. Dress up (This year's theme is Under the Sea - Dress as your favorite sea Creature…or not, still welcome) and come on down!
Please bring a favorite dish to share.
It is for a great cause and it's a good time; how can you beat that?
Saturday September 7th.
This is not a PCYC event.
This weekend is the Scituate Heritage Days Music Festival. Various mooring and launch companies are waiting for your call to reserve a mooring and come down to join the party. There are also F.C.F.S. moorings available most years. All reservations are the responsibility of everyone attending. PCYC is not involved in the planning of this event.
A note from your Treasurer
Tom Cassano, PC, Treasurer, PCYC
As most of you are aware, the Board of Directors, in the January 2019 meeting, authorized an assessment of $500 for all members. This assessment is for the purpose of raising additional funds for the Dredging Project which is to take place at Palmer’s Cove Yacht Club in the fall/winter of 2019 or 2020. The assessment is due in full no later than July 31, 2019.
PCYC relies on timely payment of all assessments and historically has not accepted late payments of assessments. Please, for the sake of your membership and for the good of the club overall, bring in your assessment by the end of the day today.
Town River Yacht Club will be invading PCYC for the weekend.
Get ready for a good time, good food, and good company as we prepare to host a great club from Quincy, MA.
Lunch, drinks on the docks, party food spread, live entertainment, dinner, more entertainment and dancing, and breakfast in the morning. How can you beat that? You really can’t.
Thank you for your interest; online sign-ups are now closed for this event.
Know someone who is paying way too much and getting too little to enjoy the waters around Salem? Do them a favor and tell them about our open house.
PCYC members are also encouraged to come be ambassadors and help show our guests around a bit. Larry will be making some pork ribs and pulled chicken sandwiches. Yum!
Saturday, June 22, 2019 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Come down and keep in touch with what is happening at the club. Don't miss out on news to help your summer go as great as it can!
IMPORTANT: I am writing to provide everyone with a reminder, and an update, on dinghy assignments. The Board previously voted to assign dinghy spaces at the conclusion of the June general membership meeting which will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14th. The original proposal required members who wanted a dinghy space to actually be present at the meeting to be considered. Since that time we recognized that some members who have priority for dinghy spaces may not be able to attend the meeting and/or previously submitted a letter requesting a dinghy space which was the protocol that was announced earlier in the year. As a result, we will accept letters requesting a dinghy space up until the June 10th Board meeting in lieu of a personal appearance at the general membership meeting.
Please note the date change to June 2, 2019 for the Blessing of the Fleet
PCYC members and their families gather to remember family members who have passed away in the previous year. The event includes commendation and prayer service, military honors, and also a floating of a ceremonial wreath. Families are able to place a flower tribute in the water in memory of their loved ones. Light luncheon to follow the Blessing after the service.
If you are attending to show support of your fellow members and friends no signup is required. Members of PCYC and their invited families and guests are welcome.
It’s about time the Officers did something around here! Come on down for the Officers’ steak dinner. This is our yearly party where the officers and board of directors cook for the membership.
